Donna's new classroom space is at 12820 North Lamar Blvd #1321. The directions are: take Parmer Lane to Lamar Blvd. Go north on Lamar. The apartment complex is on the left behind the Walmart and Carmax that faces I-35 next to Connally High School. Park anywhere that is not covered parking. The classroom is in the first building to the right and back of the clubhouse.

Healthcare provider on-line challengers are welcome at Austin Precious Air, Inc. One must log-on at the AHA site, complete the course, bring the certificate of completion and demonstrate mastery of the skills. Automated External Defibrillator technology is made so friendly now that many personal trainers and educators are requesting the AED class with their CPR renewal. We are charging only $5 extra for the Heartsaver AED/CPR component to training.
The new first aid pediatric supplement is available for only $5. This is a separate text added to the excellent first aid text. You may request the added text for your next class. The whole class can include FA/AED/CPR for adult-child and infant for only $65. This includes the two year certification for each and the new fantastic textbooks. It takes all day, but what a deal!!
The new HCP and AED courses and exams are now in place with the new technology and skills to defibrillate children. Note that there may be a teddy bear connector and an attenuator on the Pedi AED cable. The FDA has determined that Pedi pads (where available) are to be used for victims who are under eight years old.
AED's are now available for children. Courses have been added and others modified to incorporate the new devices. The new courses, tests and videos are published and used at Austin Precious Air. The chain of survival for pediatrics has not changed since only 12-14 % of pediatric sudden death cases have ventricular fibrillation. Most pediatric cases have ventricular asystole or pulseless electrical activity in sudden death and defibrillation is contraindicated in such cases. While all adult sudden death case rescues start with a code or 9-1-1 call, pediatric sudden death cases start with the A-B-C's of CPR for one minute prior to applying the AED.
Note that the FACTS course may be substituted with the Heartsaver First Aid course. The Heartsaver first aid, AED and CPR course has all of the same two year certifications.
Techniques for child AED application are part of the new HCP and HS - AED courses for Adults and Children or for just AED for Children for rescuers who hold current AED for Adult cards. Pulse checks, team rescue, Bag-Valve-Mask techniques and certain foreign body obstruction relief techniques are taught exclusively to healthcare provider rescuers at present.
Our mission is to keep all required CPR and First Aid cards current in the Austin area. We are extending our greatest flexibility to accommodate our clients' schedules and training requirements. If one requests a date, we will try to comply with that request. Note that payment is expected on the day of service.
Austin Precious Air continues to offer a substantial discount for the combination courses first aid and CPR. This is a two year certification and takes a whole work day to complete.
